Configuration Options
The DNS test repeatedly resolves a domain name (or reverse-resolves an IP) against a DNS server and measures how reliably and quickly it responds.
DNS test configuration options
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| DNS server IP | The DNS server to query. Leave blank to use the DNS server provided by DHCP. |
| Domain / IP to look up | The domain name to resolve, or the IP address to reverse-resolve. |
| Interval between tests | How long to wait between successive lookups, in milliseconds. |
| Test timeout | How long to wait for a response before treating a lookup as failed, in milliseconds. |
| Total duration | How long the test runs, in minutes. |
| Check DNS server(s) is/are listening first | When enabled, MCS confirms the DNS server is reachable before starting the test. |
