Proxy Headers

Headers MCS reads for the real client IP.

How it works

When requests reach MyConnection Server (MCS) through a proxy, load balancer, or CDN, the connection MCS sees comes from that intermediary rather than the end client. This can prevent correct identification of the client. Proxy headers tell MCS which HTTP header carries the original client IP address, so users and results are attributed to the right address.

Configuring proxy headers

Enter one header name per line in the text area. MCS reads them in order of preference: the first header that contains a valid IP address is used. Click Save changes at the bottom of the page to apply the list.

Note: Only trust a proxy header when the request genuinely passes through a proxy you control. A header that a client can set directly should not be relied upon for identification.
