Fig 1: Route test configuration options example

Bi-directional: When checked the route test will perform a test from the client to the server and from the server to the client, which gives a fuller picture of how the route is performing in both directions.

Allow users to choose the address to trace: When selected, the user that is running the test will be able to enter an IP/domain to trace. IP restrictions can still be put on the user driven traceroute by checking the Restrict traces to within the following IPs/IP range(s) box and entering IP/IP ranges to restrict. To allow local addresses check that box.

Trace a preset list of addresses only: To restrict the trace route a preset address choose this option. The in-browser test will only trace the first item in the list but Satellite's will trace the full list.

Trace mechanism options: These options have been discontinued from MCS 11+ and will soon be removed/replaced.
